Octopia

Making shipment tracking intuitive and actionable

UI design

No legacy, no problem? Sometimes, legacy isn’t just technical : it’s the accumulation of past decisions that need to be repaired.

Octopia, a subsidiary of the Cdiscount Group, provides marketplace logistics and fulfillment solutions for large e-commerce players.

As part of a strategic shift, Octopia began consolidating its services into a single platform, Sellerzone, with the ambition to move away from legacy tools and build a clean, scalable software foundation.

I worked on the redesign of the logistics and fulfillment interfaces, creating a clear, intuitive shipment tracking experience, designed to become a core building block of a future modular software suite.

Impact

Shifted shipment tracking from a desktop-only mindset toward real-world, mobile usage.

By defining a clear grid system and breakpoints, and supporting design decisions with user interviews, the work made responsive requirements explicit and actionable. This provided development teams with a concrete framework to address real mobile usage and removed ambiguity around implementation.

My role : Senior Product Designer

Within a product environment with strong domain ownership and predefined priorities, I focused on establishing essential UX foundations and reducing ambiguity across teams.

My responsibilities included:

Leading UX discovery in collaboration with user research

Defining responsive foundations (grid, breakpoints, layouts) for shipment tracking

Translating user insights into concrete, actionable design standards

Aligning product, design, and engineering around shared references

Objectives

Provide strong foundations to a logistics B2B product

Shift shipment tracking from a desktop-first mindset toward mobility-aware usage

Establish clear responsive foundations in a product lacking structural UX standards

Reduce ambiguity around interface behavior to support reliable implementation

Achievements

Aligned shipment tracking with real-world usage, including mobile contexts

Defined a shared responsive grid system and breakpoints for tracking interfaces

Delivered responsive design mockups to make expectations explicit for development teams

Conducted user interviews with marketplace clients to validate mobile usage patterns

Translated user insights into concrete design standards and execution-ready assets

Offering the right level of complexity depending on the context

When tracking shipments, information hierarchy is critical, especially in mobile or on-the-go situations.

By introducing a clear grid and a structured visual hierarchy, the interface makes shipment tracking easier to read, easier to scan, and easier to act upon across devices.

Make shipment tracking easy

Ensure clear visibility of shipment status even when managing multiple shipments.

Macbook Pro

Adapt for split screen & multi tasking
